Faculty Position Announcements
The University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics. The preference will be to fill the position at the assistant professor level, although an appointment at a higher rank will be considered for persons with appropriate credentials. Successful applicants will be required to demonstrate excellence in teaching of both undergraduate and graduate courses related to aerospace engineering and/or engineering mechanics. The candidates will be expected to develop strong research programs, including scholarly publication and graduate student supervision, and to successfully seek external funding to support the research program and graduate students. Applications are solicited from persons with expertise in any area of aerospace engineering or engineering mechanics, although preference will be given to applicants in the area of dynamics and controls. A Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics or a closely related field is required.
